When are classes held?
There are 17 weeks of classes each semester. Teachers are responsible for teaching 90% of those weeks
on the VPE campus or in a field-trip setting. If teachers are absent, they may either bring in a substitute, give classroom
assignments to be completed at home, use a webinar or other online format, have an extended class time, or a make-up date.
What if my student cannot make it to every class?
Students are expected to attend every class
since it is usually the only contact they have with the instructor. If they will be absent due to illness, please
notify the teacher asap! Please do not plan trips or vacations on class days as it is a great inconvience and interruption
to teachers to have to take time out to get your student caught up. It is also a disservice to the other students and
disrupts the classroom dynamics when a student is absent.
should I accredit my student?
A VPE accreditation gives you a professional transcript;
HOPE scholarship eligibility from the beginning; streamlined college admissions process; reduced college paperwork and entrance
requirements; NCAA eligibility; structured third party oversight of transcript; dual enrollment and MOWR; easier reentry into
another high school.
Is there a fee associated with becoming accredited with VPE?
Yes. Those fees are discussed at our annual meeting for new
and existing members in the Fall.
